Straight-talking executive coaching. Confidential one-to-one sessions for business owners and senior leaders who need honest challenge, practical guidance, and accountability—not corporate coaching-speak.
What is executive coaching?
Executive Coaching provides confidential, one-to-one support for business owners, directors, and senior leaders navigating growth, change, or tough decisions. It’s focused, practical guidance from someone who’s been in senior leadership roles for 20+ years—not theory from someone who’s never run a team.
Whether you’re managing a difficult transition, developing your leadership capability, facing a complex people decision, or simply need a trusted sounding board, coaching gives you the space to think strategically, challenge your assumptions, and develop clarity on the right path forward.
This isn’t corporate coaching filled with abstract questions and no real advice. I bring my experience as a former Global Head of People and Board Director to every session—offering honest challenge, practical perspectives, and accountability to help you lead more effectively. You get support from someone who understands business pressures, operational realities, and the weight of senior leadership decisions.

Who this is for
Executive Coaching works best for:
- Business owners and directors navigating growth, transition, or difficult decisions
- Senior leaders new to a role or facing increased responsibility
- Leaders managing complex people challenges or organisational change
- Individuals who value honest challenge over validation
- Those ready to invest time and effort in their own development
- People who want practical guidance, not just reflective questioning
Not ideal if: You’re looking for therapy (I’m a coach, not a counsellor), you want someone to just agree with you, or you’re not genuinely committed to making changes.
How it works
Step 1: Discovery Call (30 minutes, free)
We’ll discuss what you’re navigating, what you want from coaching, and whether we’re the right fit to work together. Chemistry matters in coaching—you need to feel comfortable being honest.
Step 2: Coaching Agreement & Goals
We agree on the coaching package (6-month, 3-month, or individual sessions), set initial goals, and schedule your sessions. I’ll send you a brief prep questionnaire before the first session.
Step 3: First Coaching Session
We’ll explore your current situation, what you want to achieve, and what success looks like. I’ll listen, ask challenging questions, and offer perspectives based on my experience.
Step 4: Ongoing Sessions
Fortnightly sessions (for packages) focused on your goals, immediate challenges, and leadership development. Between sessions, you’ll work on agreed actions with email support available if needed.
Step 5: Review & Reflect
Regular review of progress, what’s working, and what needs adjusting. Coaching is flexible—we adapt based on what you need most.
“Sophie has clearly guided me through scenarios, giving me support to review situations through different lenses. […] I have left conversations feeling a new sense of clarity and perspective.”

Frequently asked questions
Q: How is coaching different from mentoring or consulting?
A: Coaching focuses on helping you find your own answers through questioning and challenge. Mentoring shares direct advice based on experience. Consulting solves problems for you. I blend all three—I’ll challenge your thinking, share perspectives from my experience, and offer practical guidance. You get what you need, not a rigid coaching methodology.
Q: Is everything we discuss completely confidential?
A: Yes. What we discuss in coaching stays between us. The only exception would be if you disclosed something illegal or posed a risk to yourself or others—but that’s standard across all professional coaching relationships.
Q: Can my company pay for coaching?
A: Absolutely. Many business owners and senior leaders have coaching funded by their organisation as part of leadership development. Invoices can be issued to your company if needed.
Q: Do you work with businesses outside manufacturing?
A: Yes. Manufacturing and operations are my specialty, but I bring 20+ years of senior HR experience across multiple sectors. If you value honest challenge and practical guidance over endless reflective questioning, we’ll work well together.
